WS 1907 digital rain gauge with DCF radio clock

If the rain gauge is completely unsheltered in the
open field, this is by no means perfect. In this case,
the wind blows the precipitation over the gauge.
Therefore, a relatively sheltered location is reasonable.
Small bushes, shrubs, trees, garden fences, etc. are
therefore recommended.
Unsuitable locations
Locations that are covered from above or too close to
a house wall are not suitable.
Do not place the rain gauge directly on the ground.
High wind flow velocities near the ground cause
inaccurate measurements.
Other tips
The rocker of the rain gauge is self-draining. The rain
gauge must therefore not be placed in a depression or
trough.
Check whether the rain funnel is free of foliage and
the like on a regular basis.
Do not use other similar devices in the vicinity of the
rain gauge to prevent signal interferences and thus
inaccuracies.
Observe the maximum distance of 60 metres between
the base station and the rain gauge. This range can be
significantly reduced by reinforced concrete walls.
