Using old backup archives
After upgrading to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, you retain the ability to recover data from backups
created with Acronis True Image Echo.
To facilitate access to these backups, you may want to create a
personal vault
where the backups are
located. For instructions on how to create a personal vault, see the "Actions on personal vaults"
section in the User's Guide.
A personal vault can store both Acronis True Image Echo archives and Acronis Backup & Recovery 10
archives. You can specify this vault as a destination for new backup plans.

What else you may need to know
This section answers some questions that may occur in less common situations.
What can I do with tasks related to Acronis Backup Server?
Acronis Backup Server is a component in advanced editions of Acronis True Image Echo, such as
Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server. In advanced editions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10,
the analogous component is called
Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Storage Node
.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 components do not work with Acronis Backup Server, and the tasks
that back up data to the backup server or validate archives stored on it are not imported to Acronis
Backup & Recovery 10.
After the upgrade, consider creating similar tasks with a backup destination other than the backup
server's locations.
You may also want to upgrade your advanced edition of Acronis True Image Echo to an advanced
edition of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, and use the storage node's
centralized vaults
as the backup
destination. Regarding upgrade to advanced editions, see the white paper titled "Upgrading to
advanced editions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10".
