Setting the Scene Mode
This sets the scene setting such as [ ] portrait, [
] sports or [
] night
scene and takes the photograph.
1. Set the mode dial to one of the scene modes.
When the camera mode is set to the [ ] or [ ], [
] cannot be selected.
2. Compose the picture, press the shutter button down halfway, then press it
down fully.
The table below will help you choose the appropriate scene mode:
Scene Mode
Description
[ ] Portrait
Selects this when you want to take a photograph that
makes the person stand out and blurs the background.
The flash setting is fixed at [
] which is effective
in reducing the red-eye phenomenon.

] Sports
Selects this when you want to photograph fast-moving
subjects.
The flash mode cannot be set.

] Night scene
Selects this when you want to photograph people with
an evening or night scene background.
The flash is fixed at [ ].
