Chapter

Configuring a Typical
Application
This chapter describes the configuration of ACE-3205 in a typical application, and
provides a practical configuration example for implementing it.
5.1
Cellular Backhaul over PSN and ATM
illustrates a typical application, in which one Node B unit and one BTS
unit are connected to ACE-3205, which serves as the cell-site gateway. N x E1
IMA links connect ACE-3205 to the Node B, and N x E1/T1 TDM links connect it
the BTS. ACE-3205 then delivers voice traffic over bonded SHDSL.bis links to an
ATM DSLAM, and data/HSDPA traffic over an ADSL2+ link to an IP DSLAM.
On the central site side (left side), ACE-3400 serves as the central RNC/BSC-site
gateway. The 3G RNC is connected to ACE-3400 via STM-1/OC-3 links and the 2G
BSC via N x E1/T1 TDM links.

The configuration process on the cell site(s) side consists of:
a.
Configuring ACE-3205 – see
b.
Configuring ACE-3400 – refer to the ACE-3400 Installation and Operation
Manual.
The port numbers, IP addresses and IP masks presented in this chapter are only
an example. You should set the IP and mask addresses according to the actual
network parameters.
