Command Usage
• The time acquired from time servers is used to record accurate dates and times
for log events. Without SNTP, the switch only records the time starting from the
factory default set at the last bootup
(e.g., 00:00:00, Jan. 1, 2001).
• This command enables client time requests to time servers specified via the
sntp servers
command. It issues time synchronization requests based on the
interval set via the
sntp poll
command.
• The SNTP time query method is set to client mode when the first
sntp client
command is issued. However, if the
sntp broadcast client
command is issued,
then the
no sntp broadcast client
command must be used to return the switch
to SNTP client mode.

sntp server
This command sets the IP address of the servers to which SNTP time requests are
issued. Use the this command with no arguments to clear all time servers from the
current list.

(Range: 1 - 3 addresses)
