Operation and Description of Features
Learn the location and function of all features before using your Excel
stairway lift. The dealer should explain the features and operating
instructions once the lift is installed. If the dealer did not explain this to
you, please contact them.
Operating Controls: There is a seat control switch located underneath
the seat and two wireless remote controls.
To operate the lift, press and hold the switch on the unit control or one of
the buttons on a remote control (red is UP and green is DOWN). When a
button or switch is pressed, the lift will bleep and begin to move after a half
second delay.
The lift automatically stops at the ends of the track and it can be stopped at
anytime by releasing the switch or button.
Folding Armrests: The armrests can be folded up and out of the way
when the lift is not in use. The armrests must be in the down position when
riding the lift.

Keeping Your Lift Trouble Free
Your Excel stairway lift will provide years of trouble free service if you
follow these helpful hints:
•
Do not exceed the lifting capacity of 300 pounds (135kg).
•
Do not operate the lift outdoors. The lift is designed for indoor use only.
•
Do not operate the lift with a child or pet in your lap. The lift is designed
for one person only.
•
Do not use an extension cord to supply power to your lift. The lift's
power cord should be connected directly to the power source.
•
Do not allow weight on seat to be "off center".
•
Do not allow children to play on the lift.
•
Do not stand up on the lift while operating.
•
Do not operate the lift if it has been damaged in any manner.

Folding Footrest: The footrest can be folded up and out of the way when
the lift is not in use. The footrest must be in the down position when riding
the lift. Sensors are provided in the footrest to detect obstructions. When
an obstruction is encountered, the lift will stop. The direction of the lift may
be reversed so the obstruction can be removed.
Track Obstruction Sensors: Sensors on the unit detect obstructions and
stops the lift when an obstruction is encountered. The same sensor is
used to automatically stop the lift at each end of the track.
Swivel Seat Handle: Swivel seat handles, provided on both sides of the
seat, allow the seat to be swiveled 60° or 90° at the upper landing.
Seat Belt: Seat belt must be securely fastened around waist or chest
before operating the lift. (not shown)
Battery Operation: If equipped, the lift is operated from two 12 volt
batteries and should be connected to AC power to charge the batteries at
all times.
Battery Disconnect Switch: If equipped, this switch (on top of the
chassis) removes battery power to the lift. The batteries will not charge
when this switch is turned off. (not shown)
