3.6 Notes for usages of integrated IR LEDs
The IR range is heavily dependent on the ambient conditions. If the surroundings in the
camera's field of view are poorly reflective, or if there is no object within the maximum
illumination range, the brightness of the video image may be too low at night. This results
in poor usability of the video image.
Furthermore, when installing the camera, make sure that there are no objects in the
immediate vicinity (e.g. gutter or wall) around the camera's field of view. In this case,
reflections of the IR light from these objects can occur. The effects in the video image
would be ring-shaped dissolves in the opposite direction of the object.
The IR range can be reduced by strongly absorbing surfaces (e.g. asphalt).
