IDE HDD Auto Detection
In old systems, after you had installed the hard disk, you had to know the
hard disk specifications, such as the number of cylinders, heads and sectors, and
enter the relevant information on to the hard disk information section. If the
CMOS data was erased, and you had forgotten the hard disk specifications,
problems ensued. But now, you can use this option to auto detect the hard disk
type and specifications, and the BIOS will automatically detect all the relevant
information and place them on the Hard Disk data section of the Standard
CMOS Setup Menu, in order to allow you to use your hard disk.
