7.2 Welding process
DANGER
Risk of injury due to falling welding tractor
There is a risk that extremely critical injuries can occur if the welding tractor falls when operated on inclined or vertical
surfaces.
• The welding tractor may never be operated unattended. You must continuously monitor the welding torch.
• Operation of the welding tractor on inclined or vertical surfaces is permitted only with a guide rail system, which can
be purchased separately.
• Always use a weight safety device when operating the welding tractor in a vertical position. The device must be able
to stop the welding tractor from falling. The weight safety device must be able to hold the entire weight of the welding
tractor. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage to personnel or property that results from use of the welding
tractor in a vertical position without a weight safety device.
• Observe the work angle, Fig. 17 on page EN-24.
• Observe the difference in arm length (depends on the weight) A1 < A2 approx. 5 mm.
WARNING
Risk of burns
Hot surfaces may cause burns.
• It may be necessary to wait until the welding torch has cooled down sufficiently before touching it.
NOTICE
• Before starting the welding process, ensure that the welding tractor is properly connected to the power supply and the
wire feeder and that the welding torch neck is well secured.
