3.5.3 Connecting the manipulator to the controller
General
Connect the manipulator and the controller to each other after installing them. The
lists below specify which cables to be used in each application.
All connectors on the controller are shown in section
.
CAUTION
Verify that the robot serial number is according to the number(s) in the
Declaration
of Incorporation
(DoI).
Main cable categories
All cables between the manipulator and the controller are divided into the following
categories:
Description
Cable category
Handles power supply to and control of the
manipulator's motors as well as feedback
from the serial measurement board.
Manipulator cable
Handles supply to and feedback from any
position switches.
Position switch cables (option)
Handles communication with equipment fitted
on the manipulator by the customer.
Customer cables (option)
Handles power supply to and control of the
external axes motors as well as feedback
from the servo system.
Additional axes cables (option)
These categories above are divided into sub-categories which are specified in
spare part manual. See
Manipulator cables on page 447
Connecting the cables from the manipulator to the controller
Action
Connect the manipulator cable to the connector X1.

Lock the connector with the lever.

Secure the cables to avoid tripping or wear.
