8.1.2 Solution Replacement
The analyzer has predictive capability that notifies when the
solutions require changing. For details of the reagent, clean and
calibration solutions, refer to Appendix A, page 63.
The analyzer is taken offline when solution replacement is in
progress.
8.1.3 Annual Service
The analyzer is taken offline and the pumps are stopped when
an annual service is in progress.
The annual service requires the pump tubing and all capstans to
be replaced. Once the service has been completed, the last
annual service date is reset and a purge routine is run
automatically. After each annual service, perform a manual clean
and, a few hours later, a baseline calibration.
It is recommended that the pump tubing and pump capstans in
the annual pump refurbishment kit are replaced after one year of
operation.
Note.
To prevent air getting into the reagent lines, ensure
the peristaltic pumps are switched off prior to lifting the
reagents lines out of the reagent bottles. This is done either
automatically by entering the solution replacement page or
manually through the Manual Test Settings menu.

Reagent
Solutions
Prompts for the reagents to be changed.
When all reagent solutions have been
changed, the analyzer purges the reagent
lines so that the fresh reagent solutions enter
the reaction coil. The analyzer then goes
through a recovery sequence and then
prompts the user to instigate a calibration. A
Baseline calibration must be carried out after
replacing reagent solutions.
Replace
Secondary
Cal.
Solution
Prompts for the secondary calibration
solution to be changed. Once changed the
date of the replacement in the Diagnostic
Display is reset.
Replace
Zero Cal.
Solution
Prompts for the zero calibration solution to
be changed. Once changed the date of the
replacement in the Diagnostic Display is
reset.
Replace
Cleaning
Solution
Prompts for the cleaning solution to be
changed. Once changed the date of the
replacement in the Diagnostic Display is
reset.
Calibration
Opens the 'Calibration' window – see
Section 7.5, page 46 to enable the analyzer
to be re-calibrated by running a Baseline
calibration routine.
