Are all barriers, plates, doors and locks in place?

Are the bottom plates (if used) properly installed?

Are all tools, dirt/debris, shipping/packing materials or
other foreign objects removed from inside the
switchgear?

Is the equipment properly grounded?

Are the phase sequence and marking correct?

Have all withdrawable breakers been inserted and
removed to test interlock?
4.11.2.
Prepare to energize switchgear
For arc-resistant switchgear:
Ensure that the flaps on the chimney are closed.
These flaps are hinged and can be pushed closed by hand.
Push to
open flaps
Ensure that the flaps on the rear covers/doors are open. To
open the covers, push the flap stopper until it contacts the
cover/door.

If the switchgear is equipped with a plenum, ensure that the
end flaps are closed position. Push the flaps closed by hand
or, if too high to reach, using a pole.
