PBX Installation Information
Description
The setup and installation of the BluStar 8000i in PBX mode can be done using the configuration files or through the BluS-
tar 8000i UI via the
tools
menu (see
).
When the BluStar 8000i is initialized for the first time, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is enabled by default.
Depending on the type of configuration server setup you have, the BluStar 8000i may download a firmware version auto-
matically, or you may need to download it manually.
Installation Considerations
The following considerations must be made before connecting the BluStar 8000i to the network:
•
If you are planning on using dynamic IP addresses, make sure a DHCP server is enabled and running on your network.
•
If you are not planning on using dynamic IP addresses, see
Configuring Network Settings Manually
for
manually setting up an IP address.
•
If you are planning to provide a configuration server by DHCP, see
for how to configure the DHCP
server.
•
On the
terminal identity
screen in the
tools
menu, the
PBX Mode box
must be checked and you must enter in the
configuration server URL (see
for more information). Administrators can do this through
the configuration files, manually on the BluStar 8000i UI, or through DHCP options.
