BluStar 8000i Settings
Terminal Identity
In the
tools
menu on the BluStar 8000i UI, you can specify the
terminal identity
connection settings used by the terminal
to communicate with your network.
When a user is logged off of a BluStar 8000i, you can enter information in the following fields on the terminal identity
screen:

Internet Protocol
use DHCP
The BluStar 8000i is capable of querying a DHCP server

If DHCP is disabled, manually enter the con-
figuration server’s IP address.

use IPv6
Enables IP version 6 that will depreciate IP version 4.
IP address
IP address of the BluStar 8000i. To assign a static IP address, disable DHCP.

net mask
Subnet mask defines the IP address range local to the BluStar 8000i. To assign a static subnet mask,
disable DHCP.

default gateway
The IP address of the network’s gateway or default router IP address. To assign a static Gateway IP
address, disable DHCP.

primary DNS
Primary domain name server IP address. For any of the IP address settings on the BluStar 8000i a
domain name value can be entered instead of an IP address. With the help of the domain name serv-
ers, the domain names for such parameters can then be resolved to their corresponding IP addresses.
To assign static DNS addresses, disable DHCP.
If a host name is configured on the BluStar 8000i, you must also set a DNS.
