User-to-user signalling (UUS)
The service "user-to-user signalling" allows users to exchange a limited volume of
data (128 bytes per user) among themselves over the signalling channel (D chan-
nel) during the phase of connection set-up and clear-down. The exchange of data
takes place even if a call is not answered.
Requirements:
• Both users must have subscribed to the service with the network provider.
• The ISDN terminals or CTI applications used must support the service. System
phones do not support the service.
Scope
The communication server supports the service in variants 1 and 3 as per ETS 300
286, UUS1.
UUS is not supported in the private leased-line network and is only available at the
PINX which is connected to the public network.
Aastra Intelligent Net:
UUS is not supported in an AIN. The service is available only at the nodes
that are connected to the public network.
Application examples:
• Message to all callers, stating that the user will only be available again later: User
B
→
user A
• Reference to a required callback: User A
→
user B
• Appointment transmission: User A
↔
user B
• Advance transmission of a code word or ID for logging into a system (user B)
from a CTI application: User A
→
user B
