CHAPTER 1 SYSTEM FEATURES
1-1 Introduction
6240V mainboard is designed to run with VIA
Apollo 133 (693A + 596B)
or VIA
Apollo Pro+ (693 + 596A) chipset to enhance the performance and extraordinary
value of the Intel
Pentium
II/III
and
Celeron
processor-powered PC.
It is mounted
with Slot 1 supporting 66MHz, 100MHz and 133MHz(optional for Apollo Pro133
chipset) Front Side Bus CPU. To enhance its memory and peripheral support, 4
DIMM sockets and 5 PCI slots are mounted on board. In addition, 1 AGP and 2 ISA
slots can satisfy some exceptional users’ requirements.

One AGP slot, two 16-bit ISA slots and five PCI slots compliance with reversion
2.2 of the PCI Local Bus specification.

Dual Master IDE connectors supporting Ultra DMA/66 (66MB/sec), up to four
devices in two channels for connecting of high capacity hard disk, CD-ROM,
LS-120MB floppy drive, tape backup etc.
( Ultra DMA 66 is not supported while
utilizing VIA 596A chip.)
