8.2 Decommissioning
the water heater for
a long period
To decommission the water heater for a short period, you must switch the ON/OFF-
switch of the elements to
position 0
. Then you must switch the ON/OFF switch, on the
door of the control unit, to
position 0
.
To decommission the water heater for a long period you need to drain the water heater.
Besides the proceedings of 8.2 (8.2 "Decommissioning the water heater for a short
period") you need the turn off the cold water supply.
When the water heater is warm you need to wait till the water is cool down. Drain the
water from a hose that is connected to the drain valve. Also open the nearest hot water
tap point to bleed the tank. Note that the water supply pipe and inlet security group can
not freeze. Drain off the supply pipe and make sure that all other pipes are drained.
