The Aqua-Pure Model APUN helps prevent corrosion of copper pipes and
plumbing fi xtures by effectively raising low pH (acidic) water conditions.
The APUN directs the acidic water through a special limestone media
bed. The acidic water is neutralized as it slowly dissolves the media, thus
automatically raising the pH level.

The design of the APUN, which draws water upward through the media
bed, greatly reduces the potential caking of the media. The simplicity of
the upfl ow design requires no electricity, backwashing or a drain, making
the APUN Series a simpler, more effective and economical solution for
acidic water.

Maintenance*

The fi lter media requires periodic replenishment depending on the amount of water
used and the degree of acidity. The neutralizer should be checked every 3-6 months
to make sure that one-half to two-thirds of the media remains. The fi ll-port located
on the top of the tank permits simple replenishment of the “sacrifi cial” media.

The “C” or “N” Media helps to prevent the corrosion of copper pipes and plumbing
fi xtures by raising low pH (acidic) water conditions. This process is similar to
adding lime to acidic soil or taking an antacid. “C” Media is used for moderate pH
levels (6.0-6.8). “N” Media, which dissolves more rapidly, is used for more extreme
conditions (pH 5.5-6.0 and as low as 5.0 under certain conditions). Both types of
media are consumed during neutralization and must be replenished periodically.
The “N” or “C” Media is available in one cu. ft. cartons for periodic replenishment.

The neutralizing media will help to increase the hardness level, along with the pH
level in the treated water. Under higher hardness conditions, a water softener or
a scale stopper fi lter is recommended for post-treatment to soften the water or
protect the hot water system.

Installation and Operation manual included with the system.

The APUN is easily installed on cold
water lines only. It should be installed
after the pressure tank and prior to any
water treatment device.

A boiler drain is provided for fl ushing the
neutralizer after installation and media
replenishment.
