C. Polish the lens using a 3
"
polishing tool
12. Identify and use the 3M
™
3" buffer (PN 28354) for Steps 12-18. Attach
the white foam compounding pad (PN 30041) to the 3" polishing tool.
13. Dispense a dime-size amount of 3M
™
Perfect-It
™
EX Rubbing Compound
(PN 36058) to the white foam compounding pad. Too much 3M
™
Rubbing
Compound will result in excessive sling and added clean up. Do not run
the foam pad dry.
14. Buff the lens until the cloudy haze is gone and the clarity is significantly
improved. If additional clarity is needed, add another dime-size amount of
3M
™
Perfect-It
™
EX Rubbing Compound and continue buffing.
15. Wipe the lens and remove the white foam pad.
16. Continue using the same 3" polishing tool. Attach the black foam
polishing pad (PN 30042) to the 3" polishing tool.
17. Dispense a dime-size amount of 3M
™
Perfect-It
™
EX Machine Polish
(PN 06093) to the black foam polishing pad.
18. Polish the lens using the black foam polishing pad and 3M
™
Perfect-It
™
EX Machine Polish.
19. Wipe the lens clean with a soft cloth or 3M
™
Detailing Cloth.
**NOTE: For additional UV protection use 3M
™
Quick Headlight
Clear Coat wipe (PN 32516, sold separately) after using
3M
™
Trizact
™
3000 foam disc. Follow the directions for use on
the back of the 3M
™
Quick Headlight Clear Coat wipe package.
