You must start the SLS equipment before
running Sinter on the SLS system computer.
To run Sinter (after your SLS system is started):

Login to Windows.

Start the Sinter
application: from
the Windows task
bar; choose
Start >
Programs > SLS
System > Sinter ,
then...
a The Sinter
application Main
mode window
opens.
b The RealMonitor
utility starts,
indicated by the
RealMonitor
button in the
Windows taskbar. (See
Sinter Help for
RealMonitor utility instructions.)
c After about one minute, the DSPIF
application starts, appearing as a
DSPIF
button in the Windows taskbar. (Sinter uses
DSPIF to control SLS system heaters and
motion, and to communicate with the laser
scanning system.)

When you see the DSPIF button in the
taskbar, you can start a build.
Sinter should already be
running if you started
the SLS system as
described in
SLS system
start-up starting on
page 61, Sinter is
already running.
Sinter has three modes;
Main , Build , and
Manual Operations .
See Modes in the
Application in your
Sinter Help for
descriptions of these
modes.
Do not attempt to start a build
until you see the
DSPIF button in
the taskbar. It takes at least 45
seconds for the DSPIF program to
start up completely. Selecting the
Build toolbar button then
opening a build packet starts a
build.
