The Power Cord Strain Relief Clip that is included in the MSR packaging is designed to
be used only in China. Please discard this clip if you are using the product outside of
China.
3. Upgrading Software
This section describes how to upgrade the software in your 3Com Router.
3.1
Upgrading with FTP
Use the following procedure to upgrade the software with FTP:

You must have level 3 privileges.

In the User View, enter: ftp <server ip address or hostname>.
a.
Login to the server.
b.
Set the transfer mode to binary.
c.
Use the “get” command to download the new image.
d.
Exit ftp.

Remain in the User View.

Set the router to boot from the new image using “boot-loader file <filename> main”.

Answer “Y” to the confirmation question.

Reboot the router.
The following example illustrates this procedure:
