Insert the two screws and tighten with a suitable screwdriver.
You must use the screws supplied with the mounting brackets. Damage
caused to the unit by using incorrect screws invalidates your warranty.

Repeat step 2 and step 3 for the other side of the switch.

Insert the switch into the 19-inch rack and secure with suitable screws
(not provided). Ensure that ventilation holes are not obstructed.

Connect network cabling.

Place a unit information label on the unit in an easily accessible position.
The unit information label shows the following:

3Com switch product name
■
3Com switch 3C number
■
The switch’s unique MAC address (Ethernet address)
■
The switch’s serial number
You may need this information if you contact 3Com Technical Support.
Mounting the rear
bracket
Mount a screw on the back of the switch to closely connect the switch
with the rear bracket to support the switch. There are three positions for
mounting the screw as shown in Figure 6.
