To upgrade an 8-slot Switch 7700 with FTP:
1
Upgrade the Fabric in Slot0 using the procedure in Upgrading Software with FTP.
Do not issue the
reboot
command.

Execute the
slave switchover
command on Slot0 so that the Fabric in Slot1
becomes the primary Fabric.

Repeat Step 1 for Slot1.

Issue the
reboot
command and enter
Y
at the reboot prompt so the system
reboots.
As the system reboots, the Fabric in Slot0 will return to primary status.
In the following examples, the IP address of the local computer is 10.10.110.1 and
the image is SW7700003.app. Actual IP addresses and filenames will depend on
your system and software versions.
Upgrading Software
with FTP
Use the following procedure to upgrade software with FTP:

Log in to the system with super-user privileges.

From the SW7700 command line, transfer the file from the FTP server to the
system, using the
ftp
command.

Specify the file to boot the system from, using the
boot
command.

Reboot the system, using the
reboot
command.
The following example illustrates this procedure:

Now user privilege is 3 level, and just commands which level is
equal to or less than this level can be used.
Privilege note: 0-VISIT, 1-MONITOR, 2-SYSTEM, 3-MANAGE
