Changing segment 23 with a wireless controller

When only enabling this feature (not entering the entire 24 segment code) on an indoor unit 

that has

 a wireless 

IR 

receiver, the 

single option setting feature can be used.  Below are the steps required to only 

c

hange segment 23 with a wireless controller

 when 

segment 23 is "0" from the factory and is being changed to "8"

.  A

t this time all current CAC indoor units will require segment 23 to be 

"8" to enable this feature

 (full option codes can be found on pages 3 and 4 of this document).

1.

To enter service mode, r

emove the batteries and wait for the screen to go blank.  While holding the temperature up and down buttons,

replace the

 batteries.

2. Press the FAN DOWN button to adjust the segment on the left.  Press FAN DOWN until the first segment on the screen is "d".

3. Press the FAN UP button to adjust the segment on the right.  Press FAN UP once to make the left segment "1".

4. Press MODE to advance to the next page (noted by "Auto", "Cool", and "Dry").

5. Press the FAN DOWN button to adjust the segment on the left.  Press FAN DOWN until the first segment on the screen is "2".

6. Press the FAN UP button to adjust the segment on the right.  Press FAN UP to make the left segment "3".

7. Press MODE to advance to the next page (noted by "Auto", "Cool", and "Dry").8.  Press the FAN DOWN button to adjust the

 segment on

the left.  Press FAN DOWN until the first segment on the screen is "8".

and cover 

for normal
