Mirroring

44.1 Mirroring Overview

This chapter discusses port mirroring setup screens.

Port mirroring allows you to copy a traffic flow to a monitor port (the port you copy the traffic to) in order
that you can examine the traffic from the monitor port without interference.

44.1.1 What You Need to Know

Read on for concepts on Mirroring that can help you configure the screens in this chapter.

The Switch supports both local port mirroring and remote port mirroring.

In local port mirroring, the mirroring ports (through which traffic you copy passes) and the monitor port
are on the same device.

44.2 Local Port Mirroring
