14.4 The Printer Server Screen
The Device allows you t o share a USB print er on your LAN. You can do t his by connect ing a USB
print er t o one of t he USB port s on t he Device and t hen
configuring adding t he print er a TCP/ I P port
on t he com put ers connect ed t o your net work. See Sect ion 4.11 on page 60 for inst ruct ions on
adding a print er on your com put er.

14.4.1 Before You Begin
To configure t he print server you need t he follow ing:
• Your Device m ust be connect ed t o your com put er and any ot her devices on your net work. The
USB print er m ust be connect ed t o your Device.
• A USB print er wit h t he driver already inst alled on your com put er.
• See Sect ion 4.11 on page 60 for inst ruct ions on adding a print er on your com put er.
• The com put ers on your net work m ust have t he print er soft ware already inst alled before t hey can
creat e a TCP/ I P port for print ing via t he net work. Follow your print er m anufact urers inst ruct ions
on how t o inst all t he print er soft ware on your com put er.
Not e: Your pr int er ’s inst allat ion inst r uct ions m ay ask t hat you connect t he pr int er t o your
com put er. Connect your pr int er t o t he Device inst ead.
Use t his screen t o enable or disable sharing of a USB print er via your Device.
