Using the Utility Software
This chapter shows you how to access and use the utility software.
Install the Prestige driver (see
) before proceeding.
7.1 System
Tray
Icon
When you start Windows, the utility software is launched automatically and an icon will be added to the
system tray near the clock (lower-right corner).
If the icon does not appear in your system tray, you can manually start the utility by clicking
Start
,
Programs
,
Prestige 610 ADSL PCI Modem
and then
Configure
. This opens the Prestige control panel
window and launches the utility icon at the same time.

The
DSL Modem
icon appears as two arrows. The upward arrow indicates data is being transmitted
whereas the downward arrow indicates data is being received. The following table describes the link status.
ICON COLOR
DESCRIPTION
Yellow
The Prestige is initializing a connection to the ISP.
Gray
A connection is established but no data is being transmitted or the ADSL
connection is not established.
Green
The Prestige is transmitting or receiving data.
Red
The Prestige is disconnected or an error has occurred.
Leave your cursor on the system tray icon to view a ToolTip pop-up text that indicates the current state of
the Prestige when it is connected:

Bytes received
•
Bytes transmitted
•
Connection rate
