31.2 Saving Logs
System logs are stored in volatile memory. That means once you restart the device, all logs are
erased. You can save the logs in two locations: on the OLT or on an external syslog server.
• To save logs on the OLT, select the Save System Logs option in the General Setup screen
(refer to Section 7.3 on page 75 ). This sets the OLT to automatically saves the current logs
to its memory every one hour. You can store up to 1000 logs on the OLT. Once the number
is reached, the OLT wraps around and deletes the old logs.
• To save logs on an external syslog server, configure the Syslog Server Setup screen (refer
to Section 32.2 on page 215 ). Make sure the syslog server is connected to the MGMT port
on the OLT.
Switch Port Test Select a switch port and click Port Test to perform the loopback test.
Port Test Select a PON port and an LLID and click Port Test to perform the loopback test.
This allows you to see the link quality and statistics.
