Chapter 3 Hardware Overview

GS-2724 User’s Guide

3.1.3.1 Transceiver Installation

Use the following steps to install a mini-GBIC transceiver (SFP module).

Insert the transceiver into the slot with the exposed section of PCB board facing down.

Transceiver Installation Example

Press the transceiver firmly until it clicks into place.

The Switch automatically detects the installed transceiver. Check the LEDs to verify that
it is functioning properly.

Use the following steps to remove a mini-GBIC transceiver (SFP module).

Open the transceiver’s latch (latch styles vary).
