3.3.1 Name (SSID), Channel ID and Security
This screen allows you to setup a unique name for your ZyXEL device on the wireless
network. You also decide on the channel for your wireless transmission and what kind of
security you would like to use.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.
Note: The wireless stations and ZyXEL device must use the same SSID, channel ID
and WEP encryption key (if WEP is enabled) or WPA-PSK (if WPA-PSK is
enabled) for wireless communication.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
Wireless LAN Setup
Name(SSID) Enter a descriptive name (up to 32 printable 7-bit ASCII characters) for the
wireless LAN.
If you change this field on the ZyXEL device, make sure all wireless stations
use the same SSID in order to access the network.
Choose Channel ID To manually set the ZyXEL device to use a specific channel, select a channel
from the drop-down list box.
Scan Click Scan to have your ZyXEL device find an available channel.
Security The level of Security can be selected as none, basic or extended. Choose
None security to have no wireless LAN security configured and proceed to the
“Confirm Security Settings” on page 55 section.
Choose Basic (WEP) security if you want to configure WEP Encryption
parameters.
Choose
Extend (WPA-PSK with customized key) or Extend (WPA2-PSK
with customized key) security to configure a Pre-Shared Key .
The next screen varies depending on which security level you select.
Back Click Back to return to the previous screen.
Next Click Next to continue.
