2.6 Power supply

The device uses a dangerous electric current that could cause a deadly electric shock:

Only plug the device in to a correctly installed, earthed socket. Do not use any extension leads,

cable drums or multi-outlet power strips that are not suitable for the high power rating of the
device (approx. 1400 W). Your electricity provider or a qualified electrician can provide you
with relevant information.

Only use the device if the voltage stated on the rating plate matches the voltage of your plug

socket.

Make sure that the mains lead is not kinked or pinched. Keep it away from sources of heat, in

particular hot parts of the device.

Before inserting the plug into a socket make sure that the power controller is in the “MIN”

position. Before removing the plug from the socket, turn the power controller down to the
“MIN” position.

When unplugging the device, always pull directly on the plug. Do not hold the device by its

mains lead.

Never touch the plug with wet hands. Do not put the device into operation with wet hands or

standing on a wet ground.

Never submerge the raclette grill in water or other liquids, do not clean it under running water

and do not put it in the dishwasher.

Keep the device away from liquids. Only use oils and fats sparingly. Dab meat to dry it

before grilling.

As long as the device is plugged in there is a voltage inside the device, even if it is switched off

(power controller set to “MIN” position).

Unplug the device immediately after every use, in case of danger or in case of a fault.

For this reason, make sure the socket in which the device is plugged is easily accessible all

the time.

Ensure that you have unplugged the device before cleaning it or carrying out maintenance on it.

Never screw open the device and do not make any technical modifications.

2.7  For what you may use the device

The raclette grill may only be used at home for grilling, preparing raclette and cooking au gratin
using suitable food. It is not suitable for commercial use.

Dangers can arise due to incorrect use of the device:

Do not use the device close to flammable materials or materials that could easily melt

(e.g. curtains, blinds, tablecloths).

Never cover the device. Otherwise, it poses a fire hazard.

Ensure in particular that the device is on a stable surface that is resistant to heat and fat. Glass

surfaces may shatter due to the influence of heat.

Never use the device without the griddle and stone slab already in position.

Never leave the device unattended once it is plugged in.

Never use the device in conjunction with a timer or any other remote switch.

Only use the device with the accessories included in the scope of delivery or purchased from

us in an extra order.

Do not use the device for warming up rooms or drying objects.

Do not place empty pans in the device or on the griddle during operation.

Do not use the device in locations where it will be subjected to weather conditions.

Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation in the location you choose to place the device. Do not

operate the device inside a cupboard. Leave at least 20 cm around the device and 1 metre
above it in order to guarantee sufficient ventilation.

The raclette grill is not a replacement for an electric cooker. It is not suitable for heating liquids

and drinks. Never place cooking utensils, aluminium grilling trays or aluminium foil on the grill.
Do not place any objects on the griddle. Under no circumstances place any heavy objects or
objects filled with liquids on the grill.

Only fill the pans up to a height that ensures there is sufficient space beneath the heating

element.

Do not slice grilled food on the griddle. In order to avoid damage to the surfaces, only use the

wooden spatulas supplied or other wooden utensils for turning and removing ingredients.

Do not overfill the pans. Do not forget that ingredients may melt or expand in the heat and so

may spill over the edge of the pans.
