12. Winterizing
It is important to winterize the combine to extend the service life of the machine.
Pay special attention that there are no crops left in the machine to prevent stifle
by rodents
• Free all bearings of dust and dirt deposits. Only blow off using compressed air. Do not use
high-pressure cleaners.
• Thoroughly clean combine. Particularly: the threshing cylinder, the threshing concave and
the sieve case. Make sure no water is left in the machine.
• Clean the belts and belt roller of all dirt.
• Remove all the engine panneling and clean the engine
• Lubricate combine. Briefly move the lubricating points or allow to move.
• Clean chains using diesel fuel and spray with chain spray.
• Grease/oil all bare parts, such as knife bar and crop lifter.
• After cleaning check the combine for damage. Rectify / have rectified any damage imme-
diately.
• Park combine in a dry space protected from the weather.
• Lower all attachments to relieve the load on the hydraulic system.
• Set threshing cylinder speed to min.
13. Troubleshooting on the
machine
13.1. Header cuts poorly
• Correctly adjust knife stroke change
• Repair mowing fingers
• Knives not straight
• Align knife bar
• Renew damaged blades
• Remove accumulations of dirt on the knife
bar
13.2. Lodged grain is picked up
poorly
• Fit crop lifters (min. 5 pieces)
• Select correct distance for the crop lifter
• Increase engagement of reel prongs
• Approach the crop from a different direc-
tion
• Correct adjustment of the header load
relief springs
• Adjust reel further forward
13.3. Blockages at the crop divider
tips
• Check height adjustment of the header
skids
• Check header skids for damage
• Check height adjustment of the crop divider
tips and re-adjust if necessary
13.4. Header raises too slowly
• Check hydraulic oil level
• Have hydraulic oil pressure checked
• Check adjustment of the flow rate regulator
on the hydraulic valve (basic setting: 6),
adjust if necessary
13.5. Reel shaft winds at the sides
• Adjust inner deflectors toward the inside
and higher
13.6. Reel winds at the ends of the
prongs
• Adjust reel higher
• Reduce engagement of reel prongs
• Adjust reel speed to the vehicle speed
13.7. Reel prongs collide with the
knife in the lowest position
• Adjust eye bolts for the reel hydraulic
cylinders higher, pay attention to parallel
alignment!
13.8. Reel is not straight on raising
• Bleed hydraulic cylinders
• Move reel up to stop and check for leaks,
have leaks repaired if necessary
13.9. Too many stones are picked
up
• Attach fewer crop lifters
• Higher cutting
13.10. Threshing cylinder winder
• Increase threshing cylinder speed with
damp threshed material
• Correct basic setting of the threshing con-
cave
• Pay attention to even entry to the header
• Clean variator belt pulleys
• Check variator belt and pulleys for wear
• Drive slower with increasing moisture
• Optimise reel horizontal adjustment
13.11. Speed of the machine fluctu-
ates excessively
• Check engine and fuel supply
13.12. High belt wear
• Check belt running
• Remove rust from v-belt pulleys and clean
• Clean oiled belts
• Switch on threshing system at idle and only
