Improvement of economy/reduction of environmental pollution
Foreseeable driving
At acceleration, vehicle generally consumes more fuel. Predictive
traveling could reduce the braking times and thus the acceleration
times. For example: when you see that next traffic light is about to
turn red, slide the vehicle as much as possible with transmission
engaged.
Energy-efficient gearshifting
An effective method to save the fuel is to shift the gear as soon as
possible. A high revolution at a low gear may increase the fuel
consumption. It is suggested to shift from Gear 1 to 2 properly in
advance, and shift to a higher gear when the engine speed is up to
2,000 rpm.
Avoid the full opening of throttle
The running at the highest speed shall be avoided. When the vehicle
speed is faster, the fuel consumption, emission of hazardous
substances and driving noise will also increase obviously. The
running at an intermediate speed can save the fuel.
Avoid the short-distance trips for a long term
Only when both engine and exhaust purification unit reach the best
working temperature, can the fuel consumption and the hazard
material effectively drop. In addition, the fuel consumes relatively
higher before engine warms up. Only after engine reaches the ideal
work temperature, could the fuel consumption become normal.
Therefore, avoid the short-distance traveling for a long term as much
as possible.
Avoid the unnecessary emergency braking
Efforts shall be made to avoid the unnecessary emergency braking,
maintain a stable speed and calculate the change time of traffic signal
in order to minimize the frequency of stop. A suitable running
distance shall be kept with other vehicles to avoid the emergency
braking and reduce the wear of parts cause of emergency braking.
Avoid the unnecessary loading
Since 1kg more of load could increase the fuel consumption, check
the trunk to take out the unnecessary load.
Pay attention to tire pressure
Pay attention to the tire pressure all the time, so as to save the fuel.
Additionally, the very-low tire pressure may also result in the severe
wear of tire because of the increase of rolling resistance, and thus
worsen the running conditions.
