INSTALLATION
If you’ve purchased a remote blower-type range hood, please use the following installation
instructions. Before beginning installation, be sure to connect the electrical cord to the hood
and plug the blower motor in to test the unit. You will find the power cord inside the remote
blower motor housing for shipping.
1. Run duct work into the area where you will install the remote blower from the range
hood installed in your kitchen.
2. Fasten ducting to the range hood using a hose clamp and foil-backed tape. Use the
least amount of elbows as possible.
3. Mount the remote blower to wooden studs to ensure stability.
4. The remote blower comes with a 26' (7924 mm) cable to connect the range hood and
remote blower. From the top of the range hood, route the cord carefully avoiding any
hazards to the connector on the remote blower. Plug in the power cord on top of the
range hood to a dedicated electrical outlet with a 15-amp circuit and test for proper
appliance operation before finalizing installation.
5. Run duct work from the blower to the outside of the house and add a back draft damper
outside to ensure proper air flow; see installation examples on the next page.

NOTE:
The remote blower must be kept inside the
home, such as the attic or crawl space. Never try to
install a remote blower outside of the home.
