8.1 Operation

8.1.1 Switch on and measurement indication

After realization of the oxygen monitor ready state transferring
all lines in accordance with chapter 7.2 the SGM7.2 can be
switched on. The measuring cell has reached her operating
temperature of 750 °C after approx. 10 minutes. The current
measuring value is shown, but up to the complete settlement of
the thermal conditions in the measuring cell the value lies inside
the given error limits after an hour.

After switch on the SGM7.2 is in the measuring modus. On the
display the current, for output 1 programmed measuring value is
shown (normally the oxygen concentration, accordant the
chosen dimension).

8.1.2 Gas flow adjustment

For ensuring an exact measuring a throughput of 5 to 10 l/h have
to be adjusted. For measurements via bypass the flow will be
realized by internal pump.

At overpressure of the measuring gas the manufacturer
recommends to install a high-quality needle valve.
Corresponding needle valves can be delivered by the
manufacturer of the SGM7.2. At higher pressures of the
measuring gas an

additional

pressure regulator which adjusts

a pressure of approx. 100 kPa (1 bar)

overpressure

is

recommended.

8.1.3 Measuring

In the SGM7.2 a limit value can be programmed. The accordant
messages will be delivered via relay output. The relay is opened
in the active state (This state is also shown in the state line on
the display). This messages are carried out delayed. The pick
time can be adjusted for the measurement monitoring (limiting
value delay time) between 1 and 99 seconds.
