Introduction

Dear Customer,

We are very happy that you have decided in favour of a high-

quality product from SUNRISE MEDICAL.

This instruction manual contains very important information 

about the Neptune 2 seating system, how to use it safely and 

obtain the best results from it. Please read all the information 

contained in this manual before using the chair and retain for 

future reference. Ensure everyone using the equipment is aware 

of the contents of this manual and understands how to use the 

equipment safely.

These instructions provide guidance on the adjustments for 

professionals, but they also give information on how the 

equipment should be safely used, maintained, checked, and 

correctly assembled by anyone who uses the seating system.

In every case the equipment should be supplied via qualified 

professionals who will have adjusted the equipment, checked its 

compliance and tested it appropriately. 

The management system of SUNRISE MEDICAL is certified to 

ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.

As the manufacturer, SUNRISE MEDICAL, declares that the 

seating system is conform to the 93/42/EEC guideline.

DO NOT USE YOUR Product UNTIL THIS MANUAL 

HAS BEEN READ AND UNDERSTOOD.

The seating system should only ever be adjusted by qualified 

professionals and persons that are suitably trained. For further

Thank you for purchasing our product, we hope you enjoy 

your new seating system.

Use

Attendant configurations, are exclusively for a user who is 

unable to walk or has limited mobility, for their own personal use 

indoors or outdoors.

The maximum weight limit (includes both the user and any 

weight of accessories fitted to the product) is marked on the 

serial number label, (see section 6.0). 

Warranty can only be taken on if the product is used under the 

specified conditions and for the intended purposes. 

The intended lifetime of the product is 5 years.

Please DO NOT use or fit any 3rd party components to the 

seating system unless they are officially approved by Sunrise 

Medical.

Area of application

The variety of fitting variants as well as the modular design 

mean that it can be used by those who cannot walk or have 

limited mobility e.g. because of:

•  Paralysis

•  Loss of extremity (leg amputation)

•  Extremity defect deformity

•  Joint contractures/joint injuries

•   Illnesses such as heart and circulation deficiencies, 

disturbance of equilibrium or cachexia. 

•  When considering provision, please also note the body size, 

weight, physical and psychological constitution, the age of the 

child, living conditions and environment.

Operating Conditions

The seating system can be used indoors as well as outdoors in 

attendant configurations, on dry, firm, relatively smooth surfaces. 

It is not recommended for use in a storm, torrential rain, snow 

and ice or other extreme weather conditions.

Do not fit any unauthorized electronic equipment.

• 

Do not fit powered or mechanically operated mobility 

devices, or any other device that changes the intended use 

or the structure of the seating system.

• 

Any combination with other medical devices requires 

approval directly from Sunrise Medical.
