•
Since the machine does not have suspension, it tends to wobble more on rough roads. Be espe-
cially careful when towing over bumpy or rough terrain.
•
If for any reason it is necessary to open the intake or exhaust ports or to inspect or repair the
machine where a moving part may come in contact with your body or clothing, turn off the ma-
chine, allow all moving parts to stop, disconnect the spark plug, and allow the engine to cool
before attempting to unclog, inspect, or repair.
•
Check the blade mounting bolts for tightness before each use. Also visually inspect the blade for
wear or damage. Replace the blade with parts that meet original equipment specifications.
•
Check the distance between the blade and the wear plate each time you sharpen or replace the
blade.
BATTERY
When installing the battery into the machine, pay attention that the battery is connected
correctly (positive and negative pole).
•
Never remove the battery's pole cables while the machine is in operation. Risk of electric shock!
•
RISK OF EXPLOSION! Protect battery from heat, fire and water.
•
Batteries must never be modified or manipulated.
•
Only use batteries that are in perfect condition.
•
Criteria under which the use of the battery must be stopped immediately: Odour development,
unusual heating, discolouration, deformation as well as mechanical damage.
•
Faulty or damaged batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour which may lead to sparking,
fire, explosion to injury.
•
General safety instructions:
o
Vapours emitted from the battery may irritate the respiratory tract. In this case, inhale fresh
air and consult a doctor in case of discomfort.
o
In case of skin or eye contact with the emitted electrolyte, rinse the affected areas thor-
oughly with water for at least 15 minutes. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water,
also under the eyelids, and contact a doctor anyway.
o
If the electrolyte is swallowed, rinse the mouth and surrounding area with water. Contact a
doctor.
•
DANGER OF SHORT CIRCUIT! During transport, storage or disposal, the battery must be packed
(plastic bag, box) and its poles taped with insulating tape.
•
Keep batteries away from metallic objects such as paper clips, coins, keys, screws or other metallic
objects. This can cause bridging of the poles. A short circuit between the poles can result in burns
or fire.
•
Handle discharged batteries with care. Batteries are never completely discharged. In the event of
a short circuit, the residual energy contained can lead to considerable heat development and
cause fire

Hazard warnings
12.7.1
Residual risks
Despite intended use, certain residual risk factors cannot be completely eliminated.
•
Noise hazards:
Working without protective ear wear can damage hearing permanently.
•
Danger from the working enviroment:
Watch out for rocks and other things that can be thrown around by the machine.
•
Danger to hands or fingers:
Cut/crush hazard: Always guide the machine firmly with both hands. Special care must be taken
during the tilting process. Never put your hands, feet, or any other part of your body into the feed
hopper, discharge opening, or near or under moving parts while the engine is running.
Burn hazard: Touching the mufflers, exhaust, and other heatable machine components can
cause severe burns after extended periods of continuous operation or when the engine is hot.
•
Fire and Explosion Hazards:
Gasoline is very flammable and explosive under certain conditions.
NEVER add fuel or engine oil while the machine is running or hot.
When refueling and in places where fuel is stored, do not smoke and keep open flames or sparks
away.
Do not overfill the fuel tank and avoid spilling gasoline when refueling. If gasoline is spilled, be
sure to completely dry/clean this area before starting the engine.
Make sure the fuel cap is tightly resealed after refueling.
