Trimming / mowing
Mowing long grass (3 tooth cutting blade).
Swing the machine in a scythe-like mowing motion
(see Fig. 6a).
Keep the cutting tool parallel to the ground and set
the desired cutting height.
Low trimming with cutter head:
Hold the machine with a slight incline to the ground
(see fig. 6b). Always trim away from you. Do not pull
the machine towards you.
Short mowing with cutter head:
Short mowing removes all the vegetation right down
to the ground. Angle the strimmer 30° to the right.
Set the handle to the desired position (see Fig. 6c).
3.) Turn ON-OFF switch (1) to "I" position.
4.) Set choke lever to "
" position (closed).
5.) Hold the unit firmly and pull out the starting cable
until the first resistance. Now tighten the starting ca-
ble quickly. The machine starts.
NOTE:
When the engine is started for the very first time.
It will require a number of attempts to start until the
fuel has travelled from the tank to the motor.
6.) Move the choke lever (5) to the open “
” position.
7.) Let the machine warm up for one minute in idle
mode.
8.) As soon as the engine has warmed up, first press
the start lock (3) and then the throttle lever (2) to start
cutting.
STARTING while the engine is warm
1.) Turn ON-OFF switch (1) to "I".
2.) The choke lever (5) must be open to start the warm
engine.
3.) Hold the machine firmly and pull out the starter
cable (12) until the first resistance. Now quickly
tighten the starter cable. The engine should start af-
ter 1-2 pulls. If the engine still does not start, repeat
steps 1-7 under "cold-start".
CAU TION
Check whether the cutting unit always
stops when the engine is idling. If this is
not the case, stop the engine immedi-
ately and do not operate the machine un-
til it has been repaired.
Stopping the engine:
Normal use:
Normally, release the throttle lever and
wait until the engine has reached idle speed. Then set
the ON-OFF switch to "0".
In emergency situations
:
Set the ON-OFF switch to
"0". Machine stops immediately
