3.4 Transport, storage
Attention!
•
Always observe the weight speci
fi
cations and the permissible carrying loads of the
means of transport.
•
Wear safety clothing / shoes and cut-resistant safety gloves when handling.
•
Transport the fan(s) either in the original packaging or, in the case of larger fans, on
the dedicated transportation
fi
xtures (holes in housing) using a suitable means of
transportation. Observe the weight data on the identi
fi
cation plate.
•
Do not transport the fan by the connecting cable!
•
Avoid shocks and impacts to the device during the transport.
•
Avoid extreme heat or cold (for the temperature range for storage and transport
please see the technical data).
•
Watch out for possible damage to the packaging or fan.
•
Fix pallets during transport.
•
Do not stack pallets.
•
Only handle with suitable hoisting gear.
•
Never stand underneath the suspended fan because defective transport equipment
could cause death.
•
Store the fan / motor in the original packaging in a dry area protected from the weather
and protect it from dirt and weather until
fi
nal installation.
•
Avoid prolonged storage; we recommend a maximum of one year (consult the
manufacturer before starting if stored for longer).
•
Inspect the bearing for proper operation prior to installation.
–
Recommendation: Turn the impeller evenly by hand to avoid jamming and
damaging the bearing.
•
MAXvent-Medium pressure axial fans are generally delivered on europallets, and can
be transported using lift trucks.
•
When transporting with lifting gear:
Construction F/K/S/U:

.
•
For loads
up to 100 kg
(fan rating plate)
fi
re service snap hooks can be used with
dimensions 60 x 6 according to C DIN 5299. Use all 4 fastening points to prevent
deformations.
•
For loads
greater than 100 kg
the use of high-strength shackles in line with DIN 82
101 is recommended.
•
In the case of fans with additional guide wheel or inlet nozzle,
from size FV/DN50
remove the
fi
xing screws
C, D
and use snap hooks or shackles depending on the
payload. Load suspension on the
fl
ange inlet mechanism can lead to it being
damaged.
