Appendix C: Maintenance

132

Display Board Adjustment

The Display Board is properly adjusted at the factory and does not require further
adjustment. If you replace the Display Board, use the following procedure to properly
adjust the board.

To adjust the display board

Model 4010 Display Board

on page 106 for a board diagram.

1. Turn on the Model 4010 and check the LCD display for contrast quality. Adjust

R21 on the Display Board for the best contrast.

2. Disconnect the Select Speaker from JP3.
3. Connect a digital volt meter (DVM) across JP3 and adjust R34 until the DVM

reads 0.0 +/- 0.02 VDC.

4. Remove the DVM and reconnect the Select Speaker to JP3.
5. Disconnect the Unselect Speaker from JP1.
6. Connect a digital volt meter (DVM) across JP1 and adjust R7 until the DVM reads

0.0 +/- 0.02 VDC.

7. Remove the DVM and reconnect the Unselect Speaker to JP1.

An incorrect adjustment can lead to a damaged op-amp.
