In General
- The radio controlled clock tunes itself into the time signal broadcast by the
official European standard long wave frequency of 60 kHz. The time signal
transmitter of the Anthorn Radio Station is in Cumbria.
- The high-precision radio signal can be received at 1000 km around
Cumbria (deviation of 1 sec. in 1 million years).
- If the clock is not in the radio signal area or during bad signal conditions the
clock will still run as a quartz clock, until the clock receives the radio signal
again. Then the time will be automatically corrected. The time will
automatically switch between Greenwich Mean Time and Summer Time,
too.
Location
- Place the clock at least 1 meter away from electrical appliances such as
televisions, microwaves, speakers, computers or metallic objects.
- If you use the clock in Ferro concrete buildings place the clock near by
windows or other openings.
- Please note that strong radio and electric supply facilities, airports, railway
routes, high-voltage lines, transformer stations, mountains, valleys etc, as
well as neon lights and bad weather can affect the radio signal.
Inserting the Battery
- Open the battery compartment (6) on the rear of the clock and place one
LR14 battery (baby cell, type C) into the compartment. Observe right
polarity. Close the battery compartment.
