Carrying out the white balancing procedure (white bal)
In the white balancing procedure, the system adjusts the video signal so that
white areas in the surgical field also appear white on the video image.
• Press the <start> key to launch the while balancing procedure.

The following message appears:
"PLEASE PUT A PIECE OF WHITE PAPER UNDER THE MICROSCOPE"
• Aim the surgical microscope at a suitable white object (e.g. a piece of
white paper with a matte surface).
• Carry out the white balance procedure using a medium brightness level.
• Press the <enter> key to start the white balancing procedure.
During the white balancing procedure (while the message: "WHITE
BALANCE IN PROCESS" is displayed) all key functions are disabled.
After successful completion of the white balancing procedure, the message
"WHITE BALANCE SUCCESSFUL" is displayed. If the white balancing
procedure does not work properly, the message "WHITE BALANCE FAILED"
is displayed on the monitor. Check the settings described above and repeat
the white balance procedure.
The white balance is saved for the user currently selected. When the user is
changed, the white balance values pertaining to that user are loaded.
After the white balance procedure is completed, all keys are enabled again.
The determined values are saved and are available to all users each time the
device is restarted.
White balance is adjusted corresponding to the set light type. The adjustment
depends on the "LIGHT SOURCE" setting in the "INSTALLATION MENU" and
the BLUE and RED settings in the "USER MENU ADVANCED".
