Removing, installing and adjusting the magnification changer
Removal:
1)
Disconnect the light guide and (if necessary) the
system cable (video cable) from the OPMI®
microscope.
2)
Remove four screws (

) and cover (

).

Remove the camera module as described in
point 5.3.
4)
Loosen setscrews (

) and remove knobs (

).
Mark the knobs to ensure correct assignment to
the right/left side.
5)
Unscrew shafts (

) (to achieve this, insert two
pins in their boreholes and loosen the shafts by
turning them counterclockwise).
6)
If one of the shafts remains fixed, unscrew the
objective lens and switch the magnification
changer to its free-passage position. Secure the
changer in this position using a piece of round
wood or a similar device and remove the shaft.

Remove changer drum (

8)
If necessary, remove screw (

) and catch
spring (

).
Note
Do
not
remove the optics of the changer.
Installation:
1)
If necessary, re-install catch spring (
8
) and
screw (
7
).
2)
Lubricate the changer's running surface for the
catch spring with GF 100 grease.
3)
Lubricate the front surfaces of the changer with
GF 50 grease.
4)
Re-install the changer drum in laterally correct
position.

Lubricate the running surfaces of shafts (

) with GF 50 grease. Screw them back in and tighten
them (2 ± 0.5 Nm).
6)
Mount knobs (

) on their respective sides, making sure that their scales are correctly set.
