Checklist for S7 ceiling mount with lifting column
For safety reasons, the device must not be used if a malfunction is noticed
before the start of a procedure.
• Correct the malfunction (see "What to do in the event of malfunctions")
or contact ZEISS Service.
Always check the following points before surgery (without the patient!):
• Make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the instrument and
the accessories installed and that the protective cover (1) is removed from
the objective lens.
• Turn on the device at the power switch on the stand or mount.
XENON illumination

Check that the xenon illumination is intact.
WARNING Precautions in case of device failure
• We recommend you to take adequate precautions, depending on the
application, to enable the surgical procedure or treatment to be finished
without using this microscope, if required.
WARNING Function deterioration of the light source
With increasing service life of the light source, the actual light intensity
decreases (this is a normal system property).
• Before every use, ensure that the available light quantity is sufficient.
• If necessary, change the lamp.
After changing the lamp, check the brightness setting.
• Keep a replacement lamp (e.g. OR lamp) ready at hand.
CAUTION Risk of injury!
Incorrect configuration settings may lead to unexpected behavior of the
device and may cause injury to the patient.
• Always check the settings of the selected user profile before using the
system.
CAUTION Function failure recognized too late!
• To avoid the occurrence of any defects during surgery, perform
a function test before every surgical procedure (without patient)!
