Adjusting the eyepieces – Emmetropes:
•
Set the diopter setting ring (5) to 0 D. Set (diopters).
– Eyeglass wearers who perform surgery wearing their eyeglasses:
•
Set the diopter setting ring (5) to 0 D.
– Eyeglass wearers who perform surgery without their eyeglasses (prescrip-
tion known):
•
Set the diopter setting ring (5) to the respective value.
– Eyeglass wearers who perform surgery without their eyeglasses (prescrip-
tion not known):
•
Set the diopter setting ring (5) on the main microscope to + 5 D.
•
Set the diopter setting ring of the assistant’s microscope, if provided,
to + 5 D.
•
Adjust the eyecups (4) in such a way that the entire field of view can
be seen.
Adjusting the magnification
•
Set the maximum magnification on the main microscope using the foot
control panel.
•
Focus on the object.
•
Set the required magnification using the foot control panel. The focal
plane is retained.
Eyepieces without reticle Eyepieces with reticle
•
Remove the tube with the
eyepieces from the microscope
body and point it at a distant
object.
•
Slowly turn the diopter setting
ring (5) of one eyepiece clockwise
until the object is in focus.
•
Mount the tube with eyepieces
on the microscope body and firm-
ly tighten the securing screw (3).
•
Slowly turn the eyepieces on
the diopter setting ring (5)
clockwise until the reticle is
in focus.
•
Focus the main microscope on
the object. Reticle and object
must be in focus at the same
time.
– Observation with
eyeglasses: Screw in the eyecups (4) all the way.
– Observation without
eyeglasses: Screw out the eyecups (4) and adjust
them for your field of view.
