Guidelines and manufacturer’s declaration for electromagnetic
compatibility
The device is subject to specific precautions with regard to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). In
order to avoid the occurrence of EMC interference, the device may only be installed, operated and
maintained in the manner indicated in these Instructions for Use and only with components supplied
by ZEISS.
Only use ZEISS-approved accessories for this device, in particular the power cable as below:

The following essential performances of EXTARO 300 can still be retained even at the presence of the
electromagnetic disturbances mentioned in subsequent sections:

The light source can offer illumination of specified brightness without flashing and the light
intensity can be adjusted normally.

The various modes of the microscope can be controlled as intended.

The focus, magnification and pupillary distance can be adjusted as intended.
CAUTION!
Danger from electromagnetic radiation
Electrical devices can influence each other as a result of their
electromagnetic radiation. The use of non-approved components
(accessories, transformers of all types, cables) can cause increased
emissions or reduce the device’s immunity.
•
With the exception of the combination of the devices described
in these Instructions for Use, do not operate the device in direct
proximity to other devices.
•
Use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those
specified or provided by the manufacturer of this equipment
could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or
decreased electromagnetic immunity of this equipment and
result in improper operation.
•
Do not use any portable or mobile RF communication
equipment near the device as it is not possible to exclude the
possibility that the function of the device will be affected.
•
Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals
such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used
no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the EXTARO 300,
including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise,
degradation of the performance of this equipment could result.
