Components and function

Bridge-type CMM

The CONTURA is a

bridge-type

coordinate measuring machine. The

bridge is composed of an X bridge crossbeam and two columns. The X
carriage in which the ram is guided moves along the crossbeam. The
bridge travels in the Y axis.

Measuring table

The workpieces to be measured are placed on the measuring table. The
measuring table is made of granite. The granite block is mounted on col-
umns and its surface is polished.

Threaded bushings

The measuring table contains threaded bushings (M12). These are used
to fasten workpieces, changer racks, and qualification tools on the mea-
suring table. The threaded bushings are evenly distributed on the mea-
suring table at a distance of 200 mm. For more information, please refer
to the »Installation site requirements«.

Additional threaded holes for fastening the ProMax E changer rack are
provided on the rear of the measuring table.

Measuring volume

The measuring volume is the space in which workpieces can be probed.
The size of the measuring volume depends on the size of the CMM.
