Guideway
The guideway is part of the measuring table and should be cleaned in
the same way as the measuring table.
Damage to the air bearings as a result of contamination or
damage to the guideway.
Dust particles and minute burrs on notches may damage the air bear-
ings.

Clean the guideway every day or, if necessary, more frequently.
X bridge crossbeam
To ensure proper operation of the CMM, the coated surface of the
crossbeam must be cleaned regularly. Only the following cleaning
agents and accessories may be used for cleaning: a lint-free cloth, iso-
propyl alcohol, and streak-free glass cleaner.
CAUTION
Damage to the surface due to contact with hard, sharp-edged
objects.
Scratches in the surface.
This impairs the function of the air bearings.

Use only a lint-free cloth and the prescribed cleaning agents.
1. Moisten a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and clean the black
coating of the crossbeam.
To remove adhering dirt, you can use a streak-free glass cleaner.
Again, moisten a lint-free cloth with the glass cleaner; do not spray
the glass cleaner onto the coated surface.
2. Move the X carriage and clean the previously inaccessible area of the
crossbeam.
3. Then rub the black surfaces dry.
