Setting the brightness
Under "brightness" you can adjust the brightness of the video image in 5%
increments between 0% and 100% using the
and keys. The value set
appears in the upper left corner of the monitor.
In the configuration menu, you can select between three different modes in
the brightness menu: AUTO - LOW AUTO - MANUAL.
AUTO
In AUTO mode the camera adjusts the brightness of the video image automat-
ically to the value specified by the
and control keys. Exposure control
affects the exposure time of the camera.
The nominal brightness is set in the AUTO mode. The camera controls the ex-
posure time in the range between 1/50(60)s and 1/10000s accordingly. The
nominal brightness can be adjusted between 0 and 100%. Changes are made
in 5% increments.
A required value in the range between 50% and 70% usually provides op-
timum exposure results.
LOW AUTO
This has the same function as AUTO Mode, however, exposure times longer
than 1/50(60)s are allowed, which can result in blurred movements.
MANUAL
In MANUAL Mode the selected exposure time is displayed when the con-
trol keys are pressed. The setting range goes from 1/6 to
1/10000.
– Increments for PAL: 1/10000, 1/4000, 1/2000, 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/
100, 1/50, 1/25, 1/12 and 1/6
– Increments for NTSC: 1/10000, 1/4000, 1/2000, 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/
120, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15 and 1/8
Greater exposure times can result in blurred movements.
