PoE Power and PoE Switches
It is important to remember that the ZyPerUHD60 is a device that requires a 1Gb network.
Therefore any PoE injector must also support 1Gb data transfer.
To support PoE the following
minimum
Ethernet cable requirements must be met.
•
Must be Cat5e 24AWG Solid Copper Twisted Pair.
•
Must be shielded
•
Maximum Length 328ft (100m)
•
DC Loop Resistance per Pair < 25
Ω
•
DC Resistance Unbalance per Pair 3% or < 200m
Ω
Important Note
If using a Network Switch to provide PoE power to the ZyPerUHD60 devices, it is important that
the switch itself be protected against electrical surges that could be caused by something like a
lightning strike. An appropriate surge protector should be placed between the Network Switch
and AC power source.
